About The Position

This is a full-time (0.9 FTE) Registered Nurse position in Inpatient Behavioral Health at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, working 36 hours per week on the night shift (1900 - 0700) with alternating weekends. The role involves providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care for adults with a wide range of diagnoses including depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. The position emphasizes teamwork, building therapeutic relationships, communication, multi-tasking, engagement, and collaboration. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care, employ evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making, and lead efforts to ensure the safest patient environment and best patient experience. Duties include medication administration, care documentation, interdisciplinary team treatment planning, 1 to 1 patient communication, and advocating for patient needs.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience in psychiatric nursing preferred
  • CPI de-escalation certification preferred
