Requirements

  • Current Texas RN License or Compact State RN License eligible to practice in Texas
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care

Nice To Haves

  • Behavioral Health, Psychiatric, Mental Health, Pediatric, or Acute Care nursing experience
  • Previous inpatient psychiatric hospital experience
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and behavioral health treatment planning
  • Experience working with adolescents and/or acute psychiatric populations

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patient progress and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
  • Provide crisis intervention and behavioral health support when needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Promote patient safety through observation, intervention, and therapeutic communication.
  • Partner with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery goals.
  • Advocate for patient rights, dignity, and individualized treatment needs.
  • Support a positive team culture focused on collaboration and accountability.
  • Mentor and assist fellow nursing staff when needed.
  • Participate in ongoing education, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
