This role is responsible for managing work time effectively and supporting the team in answering customer calls/contacts to meet service level goals. The specialist will process and complete scheduling of referrals as directed by the referring provider, following department protocols and expectations. Utilizing exceptional customer service skills, they will communicate with patient, referring and service providers, and clinic staff to complete referrals accurately and expediently to minimize errors and reduce delays in care. Responsibilities include completion of patient registration, including verification of benefits and patient estimates, and documenting referral information in a tracking program consistent with EMR documentation. The role also involves messaging leadership, referring providers, or designated clinic staff regarding patient care concerns or relevant information, and redirecting clinical conversations to clinical personnel. The specialist will provide quality customer service through effective communication and knowledge of THR Behavioral Health Services, continuously building on this knowledge base and striving to provide added value to each customer contact.
