About The Position

Benton County is currently seeking a Behavioral Health Program Specialist. This position serves as a vital link between clinical teams and information systems, ensuring accurate data, efficient workflows, and reliable technological support across the division. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment where collaboration, problem-solving, and technical expertise directly contribute to improved client care, program accountability, and the overall effectiveness of Behavioral Health operations. This position offers a hybrid work option, allowing for some remote assignments following Benton County's Telework Policy, but a fully remote environment is not an option. An initial training period will require on-site presence.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or two-year technical certificate.
  • 2 years of progressively responsible experience in position or specialization.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
  • Applicants must have at least 6 months of work experience to receive equivalency.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license or the ability to obtain.
  • Requires driving and may require use of a personal vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of clinical information systems and data tools, including experience working with OCHIN, electronic health records, Microsoft Office Programs, and technology used in behavioral health settings.
  • Knowledge of Behavioral Health system operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a vital link between clinical teams and information systems.
  • Ensures accurate data, efficient workflows, and reliable technological support across the division.
  • Contributes to improved client care, program accountability, and the overall effectiveness of Behavioral Health operations.
  • Evaluates and improves Behavioral Health workflows, identifying efficiencies and supporting program-specific process improvements.
  • Communicates effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal staff, community partners, state agencies, and the public—both in person and through phone, email, web platforms, and social media.
  • Participates in and contributes to inter-disciplinary teams, county initiatives, conferences, and professional presentations as required.
  • Maintains professionalism when handling sensitive information, including compliance with confidentiality standards, accurate documentation practices, and appropriate judgment in complex or crisis-related situations.
  • Provides technical support and training, including onboarding, refresher, and program-specific training.
  • Supports staff with OCHIN and related technologies, including troubleshooting, workflow clarification, and collaboration with SOS and IT support teams to maintain BH-specific programming.
  • Balances multiple technical support activities, trainings, administrative requests, and program initiatives simultaneously.
  • Coordinates division-wide trainings, staff meetings, onboarding processes, and general administrative functions, ensuring materials, logistics, and communication are accurate and timely.
