VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), a leader in correctional healthcare, is seeking a Full-Time Qualified Behavioral Health Professional for the Shawnee County Jail in Topeka, Kansas. This role involves working with various disciplines on the Behavioral Health Unit to effectively serve the patient population. Requirements
- Must be a Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician who can administer assessments, make clinical decisions, provide Mental Health treatment.
- Must hold one of the following licenses: LMSW, LPC, LMFT, LMLP, or equivalent.
- Excellent and timely documentation skills required.
- Able to make independent clinical decisions, while utilizing assistance and supervisory intervention, as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working within correctional healthcare.
- Experience with CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
Responsibilities
- Performs risk assessment of inmates.
- Coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams, including medical staff, community providers, psychiatric hospitals, and corrections.
- Conducts discharge planning.
- Assists inmates in planning and implementing treatment goals for their stay.
- Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects.
- Prepares necessary documentation, records, and reports.
- Utilizes clinical skills such as prioritizing treatment needs, crisis management, and brief clinical interventions including CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
- Provides excellent and timely documentation.
