Behavioral Health Professional (LMSW, LPC, or equivalent)
About The Position
VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), an industry leader in correctional healthcare, is seeking a Full-Time Qualified Behavioral Health Professional for the Otero County Detention Center in New Mexico. This role involves working with all disciplines on the Behavioral Health Unit to effectively serve the patient population. VitalCore values education, teamwork, and a positive work environment based on respect and appreciation. This is a fast-paced environment requiring clinical skills such as prioritizing treatment needs, crisis management, brief clinical interventions (CBT and Motivational Interviewing), and excellent documentation. The ideal candidate can make independent clinical decisions with supervisory support as needed.
Requirements
- Must be a Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician who can administer assessments, make clinical decisions, provide Mental Health treatment, and hold any of the following licenses: LMSW, LPC, or equivalent.
- Excellent and timely documentation skills required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in correctional healthcare.
- Experience with CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
Responsibilities
- Performs risk assessment of inmates.
- Coordination of care with interdisciplinary team including medical staff, community providers, psychiatric hospitals and corrections.
- Discharge planning.
- Assists inmates in planning and implementing treatment goals for the duration of their stay.
- Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects.
- Provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports.
