About The Position

Catholic Charities of Broome County is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Professional – Level 1 – FFT. This position involves providing services to children, youth, and families following the Functional Family Therapy Model. The role requires functioning as part of the FFT team, participating in supervision and meetings, identifying mental health needs through ongoing assessments, and developing therapeutic relationships. Responsibilities include educating individuals and families on diagnoses, developing care plans, providing services in homes, utilizing software, maintaining documentation, ensuring person-centered planning, assisting with community resources, providing crisis intervention, protecting individual and family rights, completing required trainings, representing the agency, and performing other job-related activities as directed by the supervisor. The position operates in compliance with all applicable government laws, rules, regulations, standards, and Catholic Charities Policies and Procedures.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in social work, psychology, or mental health counseling required.
  • Two years’ experience working in Behavioral Health.
  • Knowledge of Behavioral Health field
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Good oral/written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of community agencies and resources
  • Familiar with computer programs (e.g. Word, Excel)
  • The ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 40 lbs.
  • Ability to legally operate a vehicle in NY State

Responsibilities

  • Provide services to children, youth and families following the Functional Family Therapy Model
  • Function as part of the FFT team and actively participate in team supervision, consultation and meetings
  • Identify individual and family mental health needs based on ongoing assessments
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with individual and family
  • Educate individual and/or family on diagnosis/symptom recognition
  • Develop care plan with the individual and family
  • Ensure FFT services are provided in a regular, consistent and flexible manner with individuals receiving services in their homes
  • Utilize software technology pertinent to program
  • Maintain required documentation and meet deadlines and due dates
  • Ensure that a person centered planning process is utilized in delivery of services
  • Assist individual in accessing community resources
  • Provide crisis intervention
  • Ensure that individual and family rights are protected and advocate for individual and family
  • Participate in and successfully complete all required FFT Program and Agency trainings
  • Represent the agency and program in the community and with other service providers
  • Perform other job related activities as directed by supervisor
  • Understand and follow all program policies and procedures
