About The Position

The Behavioral Health Postdoctoral Fellowship at Salud Family Health is a one-year, full-time position with an emphasis on integrated primary care psychology. Salud Family Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with 13 clinics and a mobile unit dedicated to providing primary health services to underserved populations across 9 counties in North-central and southeast Colorado. The fellowship program is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). Fellows function as integral parts of the healthcare team, providing mental health screenings, diagnostic evaluations, consultation services, brief interventions, and psychotherapy. Opportunities for supervision of practicum students, teaching, research, and involvement in management and administration are also available.

Requirements

• Completion of APA-accredited internship
• Completion of APA-accredited Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
• Must show evidence of degree completion at least 2 weeks before the start date (Doctoral degrees in psychology, PhD or PsyD. It can be the diploma or a form signed by the school certifying that the applicant meets all the requirements)
• Must obtain a Psychologist Candidate (PSYC) license from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) at least 2 weeks before the start date
• Strong commitment to working with underserved populations
• Ability to provide services with cultural competence and sensitivity

Nice To Haves

• Preferably bilingual
• Ability to deliver services in Spanish (strongly preferred)

Responsibilities

• Conducting mental health screenings and diagnostic evaluations.
• Providing consultation services and brief interventions as requested by primary care providers.
• Providing individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy consistent with the postdoc’s experience and specific interests.
• Conducting psychological assessments as requested by the treating team.
• Providing supervision, under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, to graduate practicum students (as available).
• Opportunities for teaching, research, and learning about and becoming involved in management and administration.
