About The Position

Sound Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Outreach Clinician in Seattle, WA. Sound is a comprehensive provider of mental health and addiction treatment services, focusing on vulnerable populations and utilizing the Reaching Recovery clinical care model. The role emphasizes compassion, patience, and understanding. The Behavioral Health Outreach Program (BHOP) serves public housing residents with behavioral health concerns, allowing for self-directed work in the community and the use of brief interventions. The program aims to connect individuals with long-term supports. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with the primary office in the Lake City neighborhood. The role requires frequent driving and community outreach. Applications are being accepted until August 3.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field, with a strong emphasis on working with families and community agencies.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a clinician or case manager.
  • Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record required.
  • Must be able to apply for and obtain a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential.
  • Must pass criminal background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Works with a variety of clients with behavioral health disorders and assists them in becoming as healthy and engaged as possible in the community, using recovery language and principles.
  • Assists individuals in public housing to address housing barriers, problem-solve housing issues, identify resources, and connect with behavioral health and other services.
  • Provides direct services and/or internal and external organization referrals for clients.
  • Develops treatment plans and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to organization policy.
  • Provides housing stabilization services to clients referred by Seattle Housing Authority and King County Housing Authority.
  • Provides on-site services at the housing site during their scheduled work hours.
  • Assists clients to remain stable in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services.
  • Monitors medication regimes and treatment compliance.
  • Monitors utilization of services and the success of outcome measures.
  • Meets county standards, including potential measurable productivity requirements.
  • Participates in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations, and in-service training.
  • Participates in ongoing program development and assessment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains positive, ethical, and professional working relationships with clinical team members, clients, and outside organizations, particularly King County and Seattle Housing Authorities.
  • Relates to a wide variety of people including members of ethnic and sexual minority populations, and is respectful of individual and cultural differences.
