To provide direct nursing services and support for outpatient psychiatry services.
Requirements
At least 21 years of age
Have an active nursing license in the State of Kansas or eligible for KS license
RN level preferred, but will consider LPN with psychiatric experience
BLS/CPR certified
Candidate must be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment drug screens
Strong patient care skills, with the ability to provide compassionate and empathetic care to individuals with mental health disorders.
Understanding of psychiatric disorders and knowledge of psychiatric medications and their effects.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to provide culturally competent care.
Requires sitting for periods of time.
Occasional bending, stretching or lifting.
May require contact with individuals with communicable diseases.
Requires the ability to work under high stress conditions for long periods of time.
Ability to hear normal range of voice.
Ability to prepare written reports, use telephone equipment and have computer skills.

Responsibilities
Assessment of patients and monitoring of vitals and health measures prior to psychiatric appointments.
Direct nursing support for medication management program and nurse practitioner staff.
Central point of contact for psychiatric needs and coordination of care among multi-disciplinary teams.
Assist in patient education regarding medication regimen, prescribed medications, and other co-occurring health conditions.
Perform injections, as prescribed.
Management of patient medication refills in conjunction with APRN/PMHNP.
Complete lab draws, as ordered, and monitoring of lab supplies and reordering, as needed.
Care coordination to obtain necessary medical records from external providers.
Nursing support for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program.
Assist in the maintenance and development of the Patient Assistance Program.
Assist with consultation and in-service training for professional staff, as requested.
Coordination of care with pharmacies for refills and serve as the point of contact for pharmaceutical sales representatives providing on-site education for professional staff.
Provision of community health worker services, as needed.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor, or designee.
