About The Position

The Behavioral Health Counselor on - site work position provides an opportunity to collaborate with other medical professionals while working with individuals. The Behavioral Health Counselor will perform assessments, diagnose, and work with a variety of populations while promoting self-determination and empowerment for patients.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
  • Licensed/Certified in the State of Wisconsin (i.e. Licensed Clinical Social Worker - LCSW, Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor - LPC)
  • Meets health requirements
  • Maintains professional license
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in calm, effective manner
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatments for mental health disorders
  • The ability to work with a diverse population
  • Knowledge of different diagnosis of common mental health disorders
  • Comfortable collaborating with multi-disciplinary team in a medical setting
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology for mental health disorders
  • Frequently sit and walk
  • Occasionally lifting, pushing and pulling up to 10 pounds
  • Occasionally bending, twisting and reaching overhead
  • Fine motor skills
  • Continuous near sighted visual acuity for reading and computer work
  • Frequent adaptation from computer to other tasks
  • Comprehensive speech and listening skills to communication with staff and other professionals
  • Complex reading, writing and math skills to acquire, communicate and use knowledge and skills to keep department running safely and efficiently
  • Constant indoor environment with occasional computer screen glare
  • Interpersonal skills to work closely with others and occasionally manage conflict and difficult situations
  • Analytical and judgment/interpretive skills
  • Prolonged commitment to job tasks/sustained concentration
  • Ability to work alone in stressful situations
  • Provide flexibility in the work schedule
