About The Position

The Behavioral Health Counselor on - site work position provides an opportunity to collaborate with other medical professionals while working with individuals. The Behavioral Health Counselor will perform assessments, diagnose, and work with a variety of populations while promoting self-determination and empowerment for patients.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
Licensed/Certified in the State of Wisconsin (i.e. Licensed Clinical Social Worker - LCSW, Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor - LPC)
Meets health requirements
Maintains professional license
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to handle multiple tasks in calm, effective manner
Knowledge of evidence-based treatments for mental health disorders
The ability to work with a diverse population
Knowledge of different diagnosis of common mental health disorders
Comfortable collaborating with multi-disciplinary team in a medical setting
Knowledge of psychopharmacology for mental health disorders
Frequently sit and walk
Occasionally lifting, pushing and pulling up to 10 pounds
Occasionally bending, twisting and reaching overhead
Fine motor skills
Continuous near sighted visual acuity for reading and computer work
Frequent adaptation from computer to other tasks
Comprehensive speech and listening skills to communication with staff and other professionals
Complex reading, writing and math skills to acquire, communicate and use knowledge and skills to keep department running safely and efficiently
Constant indoor environment with occasional computer screen glare
Interpersonal skills to work closely with others and occasionally manage conflict and difficult situations
Analytical and judgment/interpretive skills
Prolonged commitment to job tasks/sustained concentration
Ability to work alone in stressful situations
Provide flexibility in the work schedule
