The Neighborhood & Human Services Department is seeking an empathetic, resilient and solutions-focused Behavioral Health Coordinator (Misdemeanor Probation and Program Coordinator) to join the City’s innovative Triage Team – a multidisciplinary, field-based unit dedicated to helping individuals experiencing mental health crises, substance use disorders, homelessness and other complex behavioral health challenges. In this role, you'll work alongside public safety personnel, code compliance and parks staff, healthcare providers, community organizations, and social service agencies to provide crisis intervention, behavioral health support, case management, outreach, and care coordination. Every day will offer the opportunity to de-escalate crises, connect individuals with meaningful resources and help create safe outcomes for both residents and the community. Using trauma informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centered practices, you’ll support individuals in reducing unnecessary emergency department visits and involvement with the criminal justice system while improving long-term stability and quality of life. This position requires sound professional judgment, strong relationship building skills, and a genuine commitment to meeting people where they are with empathy, respect, and hope. This is a benefitted, fixed-term position funded through the current fiscal year (June 30, 2027). The hiring range is up to $75,000 annually, depending on qualifications. If you’re looking for an opportunity where every interaction has the potential to change a life, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference every single day.
