About The Position

The Behavioral Health Clinician works under the supervision of the Director - Behavioral Health Unit. The Behavioral Health Clinician provides clinical services to the patients in the Behavioral Health Unit. This includes individual and group therapy, along with interdisciplinary team activities. The patients served by the Behavioral Health Unit are adults and geriatrics.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree - Counseling, Social Work or related field - Required
  • 1 Year - Experience in similar Mental Health setting - Required
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - State Licensure/Or Compact State Licensure in state, depending upon designated work location - Required within 3 Years
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - State Licensure/Or Compact State Licensure in state, depending upon designated work location - Required within 3 Years
  • Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff and leadership, the public, and agency representatives.
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer and standard office equipment.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills and present a positive image for the organization.
  • Must be motivated, able to work independently, be a strong facilitator and have excellent follow through skills.
  • Must be able to interact with people in a professional, diplomatic, and sensitive manner and ensure that appropriate confidentiality is maintained.
  • Moving, walking, balancing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and restraining.
  • Must travel throughout the Mosaic Life Care complex to meet with users in their environment.
  • Diagnosing, analyzing, evaluating, monitoring, investigating, intuiting, synthesizing-in diagnosis of emotional disorders; creating, revising, integrating, improvising-in treatment planning and psychotherapy.
  • Hearing and seeing as part of patient assessment and the diagnostic process.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical assessment covering all professional, regulatory, psychosocial, and hospital standards, to all patients assigned from the mental health unit. Each assessment formulates recommendations for treatment and discharge planning.
  • Provides therapeutic intervention on an individual and group basis.
  • Helps develop and review clinical treatment plans.
  • Participates with the interdisciplinary team for case review and develops aftercare with interdisciplinary team.
  • Coordinates referrals to community agencies and aftercare with outpatient providers, family, caseworkers, guardians, facilities and others as necessary.
  • Provides therapeutic intervention for family or others as identified by assessment or as ordered by the Psychiatrist.
  • Provides input into program development and staff education as needed.
  • Documents appropriately in the medical record as described in standards.
  • Maintains reports and records as required.
  • Other duties as assigned
