Behavioral Health Clinician (Therapist)

The Project of the Quad CitiesMoline, IL
Hybrid

About The Position

The Project is celebrating 40 years of providing affirming healthcare and supportive services to people living with HIV, those most at risk, and the broader LGBTQ+ community. As a Behavioral Health Clinician, you'll provide therapy that meets people where they are. You'll carry a caseload of individual clients, facilitate groups, and build treatment plans with your clients rather than for them. You'll work alongside our medical providers, navigators, and harm reduction staff, so the people you serve get care that holds together. We're open to clinicians at different stages of licensure. Whether you're provisionally licensed and working toward full licensure, or already fully licensed, we want to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or clinical psychology.
  • Licensure in Illinois or Iowa, at either stage: Fully licensed: LCSW, LCPC, or licensed clinical psychologist; or Provisionally or associate licensed, working toward full clinical licensure: in Illinois, an LSW or LPC; in Iowa, an LMSW or associate level LMHC.
  • Experience providing behavioral health services under supervision, including practicum or internship.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • See clients. Provide individual therapy using the modalities you know well, including CBT, DBT, and mindfulness based approaches.

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments and build personalized, evidence based treatment plans. Revisit and adjust them as your clients grow.
  • Coordinate care with medical providers, social services, and community partners. Refer out when someone needs more than therapy, whether that's a psychiatric evaluation or substance use treatment.
  • Keep accurate, timely notes that keep care coordinated and meet our policies and legal requirements.
  • Work closely with other behavioral health clinicians, medical providers, and support staff to make sure clients are getting coordinated, whole-person care.
  • Join in on team meetings, case consultations, and shared problem-solving.
  • Support masters level interns, share your expertise with the team, and stay sharp through ongoing training and supervision. We hold to the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics.
