Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of post masters clinical experience
  • Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work required

Responsibilities

  • Approach colleagues and all job-related activities from a perspective that recognizes and honors diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Conduct timely, competent, and efficient diagnostic assessments with the client and his/her family to include family and developmental history, socio-economic assessment, substance abuse evaluation, and medical/psychiatric history.
  • Additional assessment tools, such as the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment (CANS) or the Behavior Assessment System for Children (BASC), will be utilized as dictated by the client’s needs or requirements of their individual health insurance.
  • Collect information relevant to the client’s life functioning through contact with the school, previous treatment providers, social service agencies, or other relevant collaterals.
  • Evaluate each case in terms of whether additional referrals either within the practice or to outside practitioners for additional services are necessary.
  • With family consent the Clinician shall assist in making these referrals.
  • Involve all relevant individuals when developing the treatment plan and shall base such a plan on principles that strengthen success including: comprehensive and tailored to the client’s individual needs; involvement of the family in all aspects of the planning and delivery of services; responsive to cultural, racial, and ethnic differences; and integrating whenever possible the full spectrum of service needs.
  • Provide regular individual, family and/or group therapy to clients based on a clearly defined, collaborative treatment plan and conducted based on accepted principles of goal oriented treatment.
  • When required shall provide additional therapy and/or consultation sessions as needed during times of crisis to assist the client and family in stabilization.
  • Therapists who are licensed psychologists will also provide psychological assessment to clients, including but not limited to cognitive testing, personality assessment, and projective testing.
  • Maintain complete and thorough case documentation in accordance with the Client Records Procedures outlined in the Behavioral Health Policy Manual.
  • Maintain regular contact with families and assist in the process of guardianship when necessary. collateral providers to inform them of the client’s progress and treatment needs.
  • The Clinician will assist The Clinician will provide written updates to the consulting psychiatrist and clinical psychiatric nurse specialist.
  • Discharge planning shall occur between the Therapist, client, and, when appropriate, the client’s family and shall take into consideration the emotional, social, educational, and psychiatric needs of the client.
  • The Clinician shall make appropriate community referrals as needed
  • Meet regularly with the Clinical Director for supervision and shall keep the Director informed regarding critical case issues as well as questions or concerns with community sites where treatment is being provided.
  • Maintain after hours on call availability to his/her caseload for emergency situations.
  • The Clinician will ensure that if not available that adequate and appropriate backup on call coverage has been secured.
  • Attend trainings, lectures, and courses as indicated, as part of professional development and shall maintain current and appropriate licensure.
  • The Clinician shall maintain CANS assessment certification.
  • Participate in performance quality improvement efforts that include but are not limited to timely and accurate completion of identified workflows and documentation measures outlined in the agency PQI plan and divisional goal plans.
  • Meet weekly for supervision with Clinical Supervisor to discuss cases, challenges, and professional development
