This position is for a Behavioral Health Clinician in the Emergency Department, working 32 hours per week with evening shifts. Requirements

  • Graduation and training from an accredited graduate (Masters) program such as Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, etc.
  • License (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) eligible.
  • Strong and effective communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a robust multi-disciplinary clinical team.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship and/or work experience within behavioral health including addiction services.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual & group therapy to patients with varied mental health/ co-occurring disorders.
  • Completing initial assessments, counseling, group therapy, case presentations to the treatment team, treatment planning, and aftercare planning.
  • Identifying the need for medication evaluations and making referrals to on-site providers.
  • Completing all documentation and paperwork specific to the department and in compliance with hospital requirements, Department of Mental Health (DMH), Bureau Substance Addiction Services (BSAS), The Joint Commission, and insurance providers.
  • Managing caseload which may include consultations, collateral contact, and following up with the patient on missed appointments.
  • Working towards or maintaining the highest level of professional licensure and maintaining credentialing necessary for the specific role.
  • Complying with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Attending a variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
  • Demonstrating the use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
  • Complying with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Respecting diverse views and approaches, demonstrating Standards of Respect, and contributing to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
  • Maintaining regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performing other similar and related duties as required or directed.
