About The Position

The Behavioral Health Department at Center on Halsted provides LGBTQ+ trauma informed, strength based, & client centered therapy. This position will be providing individual, relationship and group therapy for people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer (LGBTQ+), as well as individuals affected by trauma and/or HIV. This position focuses on clinical work to empower our community and allies to thrive and live powerfully.

Requirements

Masters in Social Worker, Counseling, Clinical Psychology or other mental health field.
Working towards clinical license (weekly supervision provided).
LGBTQIA+ culturally competent/humble.

If fully licensed, clinically supervise 1 trainee student weekly plus all necessary requirements.

Responsibilities

Maintain 17-20 therapy appointments per week.
Facilitates 2 groups throughout the year. (Three 10-week cyclical therapy groups and one on-going therapy group or a mix of the two.)
Provide one hour of crisis walk-in service per week.
Attends and participates in all department meetings and contributes to the development of the behavioral health department, and student training program.
Maintain timely, accurate, confidential, & HIPAA compliant clinical records.
Provide referrals, information, and linkage to clients as clinically indicated.
Meets due dates as established by supervisor and grant reporting requirements.
Participate annually in the selection and orientation of new trainee students.
If fully licensed, clinically supervise 1 trainee student weekly plus all necessary requirements.
Attends monthly Center on Halsted meetings to remain current on Center on Halsted programming.
Maintain State of Illinois Clinical License, including necessary training/workshops.
Executes special projects and other activities as requested.
Other duties as required.
