About The Position

The University of Iowa Department of Psychiatry is hiring a Behavioral Health Clinician / Therapist for Iowa CONNECT, a SAMHSA-funded multidisciplinary specialty program serving adolescents and young adults ages 12–25 who may be at clinical high risk for psychosis, along with their families. The clinician provides psychiatric assessment, individual and family-focused psychotherapy, group therapy, consultation, and program-development support to aid early identification and intervention for emerging psychosis. Care is youth- and family-centered, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and guided by shared decision-making. The clinician works closely with the Iowa CONNECT Project Director/psychiatrist, therapists, Community Engagement Manager, Supported Employment and Education Specialist, trainees, and other program staff. Specialized CHR-P assessment and intervention training, including approaches such as SIPS/Mini-SIPS, and ongoing consultation are provided. The position combines in-person and remote work within Iowa. Patient care is delivered in person and through telehealth, with an expectation of at least two office days per week. Work arrangements are reviewed annually and must comply with university remote-work and employee travel policies. This is a 60–100%, specified-term appointment for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. The University of Iowa offers employee benefits, retirement options, paid leave, professional-development opportunities, and the resources and stability of a major academic medical center and public university.
