About The Position

The BHC - SUD (Family Services) engages individuals with empathy, conducts integrated assessments for co-occurring disorders, and implements intervention plans. This role involves diagnostic assessments, record-keeping, and collaboration within a diagnostic team. The clinician may administer tests, offer short-term therapeutic interventions, and evaluate individual progress. Additionally, they provide education, support, and treatment planning, with a focus on relapse prevention and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, group, conjoint or family psychotherapy and support services to children with severe emotional disturbance and their family.
  • Conducts clinical assessments, develops diagnoses, and participates in developing person/family-centered treatment plans with individuals served and their families while monitoring progress and coordinating appropriate behavioral health and related services.
  • Maintains an electronic record including required documentation such as progress notes, treatment plans, periodic reviews, and client rights documents.
  • Participates in individual supervision and team meetings to review progress, identify barriers, and develop strategies to assist families in reaching their goals.
  • Ensures full compliance for assigned caseload including completion of MichiCANS, PECFAS, or LOCUS assessments quarterly or as required.
  • Provides 24/7 crisis intervention coverage on a rotation basis to mitigate risk of self-harm or out-of-home placement.
  • Ensures all documentation meets funder requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and authorizes medically necessary services and implements only approved therapeutic modalities.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and co-occurring disorders.
  • Completes diagnostic assessments and interviews within required timeframes for applicable funding sources such as OSAS and CCBHC.
  • Participates in diagnostic teams and utilization review committees, reviews case records for quality and effectiveness, and collaborates with internal and external providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provides education and consultation to individuals and families regarding disorders, recovery phases, treatment options, and community supports while encouraging engagement in peer and recovery resources.
  • Develops individualized, person-centered treatment plans for substance use and co-occurring disorders with clearly defined goals, interventions, and appropriate use of community resources.
  • Utilizes communication platforms and internal systems such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, EMR, and Office 365 to support service delivery and maintain data integrity.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
  • Supports and assists individuals with trauma-related needs.
