About The Position

Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Clinician (LICSW, LP, LPCC, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD) to join our Behavioral Health team and new ACGME-accredited rural Family Medicine residency as program faculty. This position supports the Family Medicine Residency Program through integrated behavioral health care, resident education, supervision, and program development within a multidisciplinary primary care setting. The Behavioral Health Faculty provides assessment, consultation, and direct patient care addressing psychosocial and behavioral factors impacting medical outcomes. Care is delivered using an integrated, team-based model within outpatient primary care. In addition to clinical services, this role serves as core Behavioral Health Faculty for the Family Medicine Residency Program, contributing to curriculum development, resident supervision and evaluation, wellness initiatives, and continuous program improvement. The program's core faculty are essential members of the residency leadership team and will need to demonstrate evaluation and assessment skills, leadership, and an understanding of the Family Medicine core competencies and Milestones.

Requirements

  • Master's or doctoral degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related behavioral health field.
  • Active independent licensure (one of the following): PhD in Psychology or related behavioral health discipline, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Psychologist (LP).
  • Minimum two (2) years of post-licensure clinical experience.
  • Interest and some experience in addiction medicine.
  • Strong desire to support a rural residency program.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in integrated primary care or collaborative care models.
  • Teaching or residency faculty experience.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision.
  • Experience in providing counseling and therapy to patients with OUD / SUD.
  • Leadership or program development experience.
  • Quality improvement or research experience in behavioral health integration.
  • Experience working with substance use disorders within primary care.
