Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Science, or related field required.
  • Licensed as Clinical Social Worker, Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family, or Substance Abuse Counselor designation required.
  • Active Arizona Behavioral Health License required.
  • 5+ years in behavioral or mental health counseling required.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with individuals of various social, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to work as part of a comprehensive community mental health team and to represent NOAH in the community.
  • Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court, and police activities, etc.
  • Good organizational skills and administrative abilities.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to adhere to the professional code of ethics.
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with the State Mental Health Code.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Detail-oriented and professional.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks including delegation of tasks when appropriate.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022).
  • Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, organizing, and managing the daily operations of the clinical Behavioral Health Department.
  • Providing leadership, direction, and support to counselors, integrated behavioral health clinicians, and peer support staff.
  • Serving patients as a behavioral health clinician.
  • Conducting direct patient care, including client screening, assessment, and interventions in accordance with the integrated behavioral health model.
  • Facilitating classes and groups as well as social service support, referrals and/or resources.
  • Developing a measurable, time-limited treatment plan.
  • Serving as a resource for patients, families, and healthcare employees.
  • Facilitating communication between family and healthcare team members.
  • Collaborating with community resources to formulate and deliver a comprehensive multi-disciplinary treatment plan.
  • Participating in Quality Assurance meetings, soliciting recommendations from other staff about necessary and appropriate Quality Assurance activities and in-service training to improve the behavioral health consultant services provided by the clinics.
  • Developing, reviewing, approving, and implementing Behavioral Health protocols, procedures, and evidence-based practices provided within models of integrated behavioral health and psychotherapy interventions in consultation with the Clinical Director and operations team.
  • Supervising and monitoring compliance of Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) contract requirements in conjunction with NOAH administrators.
  • Periodically reviewing charts of Behavioral Health Providers to assess consistency with agency protocols and procedures.
  • Working with the corporate grant writing team in developing, presenting, and implementing Behavioral Health grants.
  • Attending, participating, and/or assisting in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
