About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Director to provide leadership, oversight, and support across behavioral health programs. This role is responsible for strengthening clinical quality, supporting staff development, and ensuring services are delivered in alignment with best practices and regulatory standards. The Clinical Director partners closely with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to enhance program effectiveness, support compliance, and promote high-quality, person-centered care across the organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field required
  • Active licensure in Virginia (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) required
  • 3+ years of experience in behavioral health, including clinical supervision or leadership responsibilities
  • Experience supporting, mentoring, and developing clinical staff
  • Strong understanding of clinical best practices, service delivery, and person-centered care
  • Working knowledge of DBHDS regulations, Medicaid requirements, and clinical documentation standards
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to ensure high-quality, effective, and compliant service delivery
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop clinical staff, supporting growth, performance, and retention
  • Guide and support clinical decision-making, including assessments, treatment planning, and service delivery approaches
  • Lead and contribute to staff training and professional development initiatives
  • Oversee documentation quality, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Collaborate with operational and site leadership to align clinical practices with organizational goals and priorities
  • Support the development, implementation, and expansion of programs and services to meet client and community needs
  • Promote and integrate evidence-based practices throughout service delivery
  • Monitor clinical and program performance using data, reports, and feedback to drive improvements
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and payer requirements
  • Provide guidance on clinical best practices, care coordination, and service delivery models
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high-quality care
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partner
