Oversee the clinical management and functions of the clinic’s behavioral health providers, consistent with corporate administrative and clinical policies and procedures. This role involves ensuring adequate staffing, fostering positive provider relations, developing annual goals, onboarding new providers, resolving staff disagreements, conducting performance reviews, interpreting policies, participating in hiring interviews, and addressing quality improvement, patient flow, patient satisfaction, and productivity issues. The position also requires providing direct patient care and complying with departmental and health center policies. Enhances professional growth through educational programs and participates in meetings and committees. May supervise interns. Requirements

  • Successful completion of graduate training program in a psychotherapy-related field: Ph.D./Psy.D.in Psychology at an accredited University or College.
  • Combination of education and 5 years of experience in a mental health setting as specified.
  • Sensitivity to multi-cultural concerns and the psychotherapeutic process required and completion of clinical training.
  • PhD/PsyD issued by the state of California and a valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Works well with a team, and leads others by example and direction.
  • Demonstrates commitment to organizational Core Values.
  • Knowledge of using computers, phones, vehicles, copy machines and fax machines etc.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other departments within a large community health center and satellite clinics.
  • Works well in multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Must possess excellent customer service, communication and documentation skills.
  • Must write clearly and legibly.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual (English /Spanish speaking) and bi-cultural in therapeutic approach strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation and recovery treatment modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adequate staff with appropriate training in the clinic and exceptional customer service that provides quality health care.
  • Provide active leadership in building positive provider staff relations with all clinic personnel.
  • Develop annual goals and objectives for clinic improvement.
  • Responsible for onboarding new providers at your clinic.
  • Maintain an active involvement in helping resolve providers/staff misunderstandings and disagreements.
  • Complete Annual Provider Staff Performance Reviews and PICAs.
  • Maintain an active involvement in policy interpretations for provider staff.
  • Participate in BH provider and staff interviews for hiring behavioral health staff.
  • Address quality improvement, patient flow, patient satisfaction and productivity issues and develop a plan for improvement.
  • Meet with Behavioral Health leadership team to discuss standards of operations and patient care.
  • Take ownership in the clinic's peer review results by meeting with the Director of Behavioral Health and provider staff to look for opportunities for improving patient care.
  • Provide at minimum 0.8 FTE of direct patient care in addition to responsibilities and duties.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by Chief Behavioral Health Officer.
  • Complies with established departmental and health center wide policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, compliance required courses, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
  • Attends meetings as required and participates in committees as requested.
  • May be asked to assist in providing supervision of interns under specification of license held.
