About The Position

Behavioral Health Associate (BHA) Wooded Glen Recovery Center – Henryville, IN Join a compassionate, mission-driven team making a real difference in the lives of individuals seeking recovery. As a Behavioral Health Associate, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, structured environment while supporting clients through their treatment journey.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
At least 1 year of experience as a BHA preferred
Experience working with the population we serve preferred
Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, substance use disorders, and dual diagnosis preferred

Responsibilities

Create a Safe & Structured Environment: Maintain constant awareness and supervision of clients, conduct safety checks, perform contraband checks and manage client valuables and belongings.
Support Client Care & Engagement: Build rapport through daily interactions, observe behaviors, report significant changes, encourage participation in activities, facilitate educational and rehabilitative groups, apply de-escalation techniques, assist with vital signs monitoring, and report updates to nursing staff.
Promote Treatment Progress: Engage clients in activities that align with treatment goals, orient new clients, and support client independence through structured routines and wellness strategies.
Keep Things Running Smoothly: Accurately and promptly document all client interactions and observations, assist with unit cleanliness, organizing new admit charts, filing, and the discharge process, support transportation needs, and provide thorough shift reports.
Enhance Recreation & Programming: Help plan and implement diverse therapeutic activities, set up equipment, manage supplies, and ensure safety rules are followed, adapt activities to meet the needs of various client groups.
