About The Position

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Woodward Resource Center (WRC) is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Assistant to join our team. This role involves ensuring the rights of individuals are respected and upheld, utilizing appropriate management and training techniques to address individual needs, and providing continuous active treatment programs to promote independence. The position also requires maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy environment for individuals and completing administrative procedures to enhance the WRC mission. Additionally, the Behavioral Health Assistant will assist in developing and implementing treatment programs, train staff using Competency-Based Training methods, and conduct, summarize, and interpret program data for various team members. Interaction with individuals should be done with sensitivity, dignity, and respect. WRC prepares and supports individuals to live in the community of their choice and offers a range of services including being an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability (ICF/IID), supported community living, consultations/training, behavioral health services, and physical nutrition management.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in psychology, mental health counseling, applied behavior analysis, substance use, clinical social work, behavioral sciences, mental health, or a closely-related field.
  • Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position.
