About The Position

Horizon is hiring a full-time Behavioral Health Assistant/Driver for its detox and stabilization center at 291 Elm St, Buffalo, NY. The role supports patients in detox and inpatient settings through admissions and discharges, safety checks, screenings, group activities, recovery support, and transportation. The position works Tuesday through Saturday from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The pay range is $18.82–$19.50 per hour; starting pay may depend on experience and education, and compensation is evaluated annually. Requirements

• An associate degree and one year of behavioral health or healthcare work experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of behavioral health or healthcare work experience.
• A clean, valid New York State driver's license.
• Three years of driving experience.
• Reliable transportation for regular local travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient admissions and discharges.
• Perform hourly building rounds to ensure patient safety.
• Complete room searches throughout the facility.
• Administer toxicology screenings.
• Supervise wellness and family group activities.
• Guide patients through the challenges of recovery.
• Address patient behaviors using a patient-centered approach.
• Transport patients as needed.
