About The Position

The WellLife Network Children’s SPOA Mental Health Aide is responsible for supporting the clinical team of the Suffolk County Children’s Single Point of Access, a centralized intake, referral, and monitoring system for high intensity mental health services for children with serious emotional disturbance that substantially interferes with functioning in the home, school, and community. This position operates under the general direction of the Director of Children’s Services for the Suffolk County Division of Community Mental Hygiene and Division Director of Children & Family Services. This is a part time position.

Requirements

  • Completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or graduation from high school.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance and their families
  • A level of administrative duties is preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration with families, healthcare providers, and community partners
  • Flexibility, professionalism, and adherence to required training.
  • A clean and valid New York State driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter applications, transfers and inactivations, notes and other relevant documents in the CSPOA database/EHR
  • Assist in monitoring referral status, including incomplete referrals and follow-up with referent and other individuals to gather additional information as necessary.
  • Handle inquiries requesting information about CSPOA programs and services
  • Make presentations at various outside agencies on an as needed basis
  • Maintain files, including creating new files, tracking closed files, scanning and archiving closed files for storage, and maintaining a well-organized file room
  • File paper forms in client files; scan and upload documents into the EHR
  • Utilize the CSPOA Access database/EHR and general IT applications (Ex/ Word, Excel, Adobe) in a proficient manner
  • Understand and demonstrate commitment to agency risk management procedures and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned.
