Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- CPR certification required
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required
Nice To Haves
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Child Development, Social Work, Behavioral Science, Human Services, Healthcare, Nursing, or a related field preferred
- Experience working with children, autism, behavioral health, mental health, childcare, education, caregiving, therapy services, direct support, or developmental disabilities preferred but not required
- Ability to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) within the first 90 days of employment preferred (unless there is a current registration)
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by a BCBA using evidence-based ABA therapy techniques.
- Provide one-on-one behavior therapy for children with autism and developmental disabilities.
- Teach communication, social skills, emotional regulation, play skills, adaptive behavior, and daily living skills.
- Use positive behavior support strategies and behavior intervention techniques to encourage learning and independence.
- Collect accurate behavioral data during therapy sessions using electronic documentation systems.
- Maintain detailed session notes and complete documentation that meets clinical, insurance, and BACB standards.
- Build positive, professional relationships with children and families while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Support clients during behavioral challenges using approved crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Collaborate with BCBAs, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, educators, and interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care.
