The Behavior Technician supports student success by providing direct behavioral interventions, coaching, and instructional support so students can build positive skills and access their education. The role works closely with teachers, specialists, and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to foster inclusive, safe, and engaging classrooms. This is a full-time, school-year, non-exempt classified position with 192 working days and 11 holidays. The Behavior Technician provides individual and small-group support, implements strategies and behavior plans under BCBA guidance, monitors and documents student progress, and assists with student safety, medical, and hygiene needs as required. The position may involve travel to any of the six campuses for network positions, with minimal travel during the same school day. The work takes place primarily in classrooms and on campus. Conditions may include noise, changing levels of student engagement, and emotionally demanding situations. The role requires patience, compassion, adaptability, collaboration, and adherence to safety and health protocols. Physical demands include moving around campus, occasionally lifting or arranging classroom materials, sitting and standing for extended periods, and responding to student behavioral challenges, which may involve physical interventions. The hourly pay scale ranges from $26.50 to $31.00 for the HS Diploma column and from $27.50 to $32.00 for the RBT Certification column across steps 1–10. An additional $0.50 per hour is provided for each year after year 10. Placement is on the HS Diploma column unless the candidate holds a current RBT certification. Prior experience may be credited, up to eight years, under the stated experience-credit rules.
