About The Position

Achievement Behavior Services (ABS) is an agency founded ten years ago, in 2015, by dedicated BCBAs and LCSWs. We have a successful history of supporting children with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families with direct, in-home/in-community ABA therapeutic services. Our approach uses the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to mentor and support these children towards increasing their communication, adaptability, resilience, and independence.

Requirements

• Most Relevant Areas of Study: Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, Special education, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology
• Strong and multi-tiered stakeholder communication skills required
• Adaptability and decisiveness under high-stress situations
• Exhibits professional administrative reliability: punctuality and responsiveness
• Proven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged children
• Additional evidence of successful work with patients suffering from Autism and development issues
• Other experience, certificates, or qualifications as required by NY State.
• Intuitive, engaging, compassionate, and person-centered approaches
• Proven experience with documenting progress notes and data points aligning with individualized treatment plans and goals
• Structured and creative play skills

Nice To Haves

• Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

Responsibilities

• Engaging rapport building and curiosity to find creative solutions to help a student more effectively communicate their needs, wants, and feelings
• Measure, assess, and document skill acquisition of student's progress on the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)
• 1:1 Goal-oriented, in home, direct service work with a student involving implementation of ABA approaches including but not limited to discrete trial teaching, prompting, modeling, redirection, reinforcements, and reward-systems.
• Thorough and comprehensive session-to-session documentation, data analysis, and billing.
• Actively engaging with clinical direction and professional feedback from BCBA supervisor(s)
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with clients or students, caregivers, supervisors, and coworkers
