About The Position

Behavior Technicians work one-on-one with children with autism, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). They use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors. Comprehensive training is provided, and prior experience is not required. The role involves working with children who may be unpredictable or confrontational and requires comfort with frequent movement and physical activity, including the possibility of carrying children or objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Be passionate about helping children with autism.
• Be patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team environment.
• Be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications and complete a tuberculosis test if one has not been completed within the last year.
• Pass a pre-employment background check.
• Be able to move through positions and activities such as sitting, squatting, and bending.
• Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Behavioral Technician.
• Experience working with children with autism or other learning disabilities.
• Experience as a Teacher’s Aid, tutor, CNA, caregiver, or home health aide.
