About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Behavior Technician to join their team at their program in State College, PA. This role involves working one-on-one in a school setting with autistic/emotional support students. The Behavior Technician will follow each child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBSP) to help students achieve academic and behavioral goals in a trauma-informed environment. This position is ideal for individuals with backgrounds as Paraprofessionals, Registered Behavior Technicians, Behavior Health Technicians, or Personal Care Aides. No prior experience is required as paid training is provided.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or general educational development (GED) is required.
• Availability to work Full Day of 8:15 am - 3:15 pm Monday – Friday

Nice To Haves

• 3-6 months of experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Experience working with children with autism is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete timely ongoing data collection, including parent/staff correspondence and all required documentation.
• Provide behavioral interventions and physical interventions as needed. Physical interventions may range from simple prompting and/or guided transport up to, and including, physical restraint of client. Interventions vary based on program regulations and appropriate training is provided based on same.
• Monitor client performance and record relevant data to assess progress.
• Accompany and assist client(s)/student(s) with activities and daily living which may include assisting with toileting and grooming.
• Collaborate with families and team for continuity of care.
• Implement and follow through with client/student behavior plan as well as individualized reinforcement systems for individual client assigned.
• Complete required training(s) as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
