This role involves providing direct support to individuals, following their care plans, and ensuring accurate documentation. The Behavior Technician will collect data to drive positive behaviors, assist individuals with daily living activities such as meal planning, grocery shopping, housekeeping, cooking, organizational skills, financial management, and self-care. They will also advocate for, support, and empower individuals by providing general skill training, supporting the development of decision-making skills, and assisting individuals in becoming involved in their community by transporting them via company vehicle. The technician will coach individuals through behavioral or mood escalations and emergency situations, and maintain positive working relationships with teammates and other stakeholders. Adherence to policies regarding vulnerable adults, child abuse and neglect, HIPAA, and confidentiality is crucial. Other cross-functional duties may be assigned.
