About The Position

Northway Academy is seeking a Behavior Technician to support children with autism through early intervention programs. This role involves implementing therapy plans and behavior strategies, teaching essential life skills such as communication, self-care, and social interaction, and assisting with behavior management and transitions to school settings. We encourage applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, including those with experience as a teacher, paraprofessional, coach, nanny, babysitter, caregiver, CNA, camp counselor, or in retail or hospitality. Experience supporting a child or family member with autism is also valued. No prior ABA experience is required, as comprehensive training is provided. The ideal candidate possesses compassion, a willingness to learn, and a passion for helping others.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a mental health discipline or hold a master’s degree in a mental health field
Obtained a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields and have 6,000 hours of paid/clinical experience delivering Applied Behavior Analysis services
Enrolled in OR hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields (mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy)
Hold an associate’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields (mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy) and at least 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience (including but not limited to experience as a DSP, PCA, Paraprofessional)
Possess a high school diploma (or GED) and have 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience (equivalent to 2 years of full-time experience, including but not limited to experience as a DSP, PCA, Paraprofessional)
Fluent in a non-English speaking language or certified by a tribal nation
