About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Behavior Technician for its school-based program in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The technician works one-on-one with students receiving autistic or emotional support, helping them achieve academic and behavioral goals by following each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBSP). The position is part of a team and supports students' development in a trauma-informed environment. Paid training is provided.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Pay is $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Complete timely ongoing data collection, parent and staff correspondence, and required documentation.
• Provide behavioral and physical interventions as needed, which may include prompting, guided transport, or physical restraint; appropriate training is provided.
• Monitor student performance and record relevant data to assess progress.
• Accompany and assist students with activities and daily living, which may include toileting and grooming.
• Collaborate with families and the team to support continuity of care.
• Implement and follow each student's behavior plan and individualized reinforcement systems.
• Complete required training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
