About The Position

Behavior Technicians work one-on-one with children with autism, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). They use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors. The role involves working with children who may be unpredictable or confrontational and requires physical activity, including standing, walking, sitting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and sometimes lifting or carrying children or objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Comprehensive training is provided, including for candidates without prior experience. The position offers a pay range of $18–$24.

Requirements

• Be passionate about helping children with autism.
• Be patient and compassionate, and able to work well in a team.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications and a tuberculosis test if one has not been completed in the last year.
• Be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Be able to move in various positions, including sitting, squatting, and bending.
• Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Behavior Technician.
• Experience working with children with autism or other learning disabilities.
• Experience as a Teacher’s Aid, tutor, CNA, caregiver, or home health aide.
