Behavior Technician PAID TRAINING & RBT CERTIFICATION

As a Behavior Technician, you will teach children diagnosed with autism essential skills such as communication, socialization, self-care, and school readiness. You will experience a child's milestones firsthand and work closely with teachers, parents, BCBAs, and behavioral health specialists. FirstSteps also supports employees in becoming Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), covering all initial credentialing fees in conjunction with our paid training program. - Have some "Kid" Experience: We look for "kid people" and related work, study, or volunteer experience demonstrating an interest in child development and commitment to the care and well-being of all children.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree OR active degree in progress strongly preferred.
- Graduate students in ABA may apply as Behavior Technicians and be eligible to receive clinical training and supervision hours toward BACB requirements, based on performance, role alignment, availability, and program needs.
- Childhood vaccinations and non-reactive TB test.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, sit on floors and/or child-sized furniture, and quickly move from a seated position to running stance.
Responsibilities
- Teaching children diagnosed with autism meaningful skills including communication, socialization, self-care, and school readiness.
- Experiencing firsthand a child’s first words, first friend, first shoe tie, and much more.
- Working closely with and learning from teachers, parents, FirstSteps BCBAs, and behavioral health/ mental health specialists.
- Becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with all initial credentialing fees paid by FirstSteps in conjunction with our paid training program.
