Behavior Technician - Center Based
About The Position
Butterfly Effects is seeking dedicated Child Interventionists/Behavior Technicians, both entry-level and experienced, to directly assist children with autism in honing vital skills like communication, social interaction, and self-care. This role involves collaborating with families to execute ABA based behavior intervention plans. The position is part-time, requires a 6-7 month availability commitment, and is not suitable for a short-term summer role. Available shifts are Monday-Friday 8a-7p (30+ hours/week), Monday-Friday 11a-7p (30+ hours/week), and Monday-Friday 3p-7p (15-20 hours/week).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Genuine love for working with children.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with children and families.
- Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, & Auto insurance with name listed.
- Must have a Tablet or Laptop computer to use during sessions (not just a smart phone).
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience with children is advantageous.
- Interest in ongoing development.
Responsibilities
- Implements individualized treatment plans under the direction of a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA).
- Observes, records, and reports on client's progress, as well as the condition and behavior of the client daily.
- Manages challenging behaviors.
- Apply behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with clients.
- Assist clients, as needed, to acquire academic and/or appropriate life skills.
- Communicate in a professional and respectful manner with parents, behavioral analysts/consultants, trainers, and clients.
- Functions as an active member of the treatment team.
- Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent and timely manner through our on-line database.
- Actively participates in continuous training programs designed to increase overall skills.
- Maintains confidentiality of client information.
- Follows BE policies and procedures.
