About The Position

Achievement Behavior Services (ABS) is an agency founded in 2015 by BCBAs and LCSWs, dedicated to supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. We provide direct, in-home/in-community Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapeutic services, focusing on enhancing children's communication, adaptability, resilience, and independence. We offer competitive hourly rates, flexible part-time schedules, and opportunities for professional development, including RBT certification and personalized supervision from a BCBA.

Requirements

  • Most Relevant Areas of Study: Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, Special education, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Strong and multi-tiered stakeholder communication skills required
  • Adaptability and decisiveness under high-stress situations
  • Exhibits professional administrative reliability: punctuality and responsiveness
  • Proven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged children
  • Additional evidence of successful work with patients suffering from Autism and development issues
  • Other experience, certificates, or qualifications as required by NY State.
  • Intuitive, engaging, compassionate, and person-centered approaches
  • Proven experience with documenting progress notes and data points aligning with individualized treatment plans and goals
  • Structured and creative play skills

Responsibilities

  • Work directly, one-on-one, with a child in their natural, home environment.
  • Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to help students improve communication, focus, and behavior adaptation.
  • Engage in rapport building and find creative solutions to help students communicate their needs, wants, and feelings.
  • Measure, assess, and document skill acquisition progress on the BIP.
  • Conduct goal-oriented, in-home, direct service work using ABA approaches such as discrete trial teaching, prompting, modeling, redirection, reinforcements, and reward systems.
  • Provide thorough and comprehensive session-to-session documentation, data analysis, and billing.
  • Actively engage with clinical direction and professional feedback from BCBA supervisor(s).
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with clients, caregivers, supervisors, and coworkers.
