About The Position

The Trudeau Center is seeking a Classroom Behavior Technician to support children with developmental disabilities. The role involves implementing individualized behavior and education programs, supporting classroom activities, and helping children build skills and confidence in a supportive, team-based environment. The position requires working with children with a broad range of needs, including autism and significant problem behaviors, and maintaining their safety while supporting learning and daily routines.

Requirements

• TA certification or a bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or a related field.
• Experience working with children.
• Be coachable, compassionate, reliable, and a team player.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Ability to work with children with a broad range of needs, including autism and significant problem behaviors.
• Ability to sit in small chairs or on the floor and move rapidly, sometimes running, to address children’s safety and teaching needs.
• Ability to work with children in ways that involve physical contact, particularly when needed for child safety.
• Must achieve certification in the crisis management system used by the program within the program-established timeline.

Responsibilities

• Carry out behavior plans and teaching strategies created by the team.
• Collect and manage student data.
• Assist with daily routines, including self-care and classroom transitions.
