The Building-Level Behavior Technician is a specialized role focused on applying trauma-informed, evidence-based behavioral techniques to support a positive and supportive learning environment in the general education setting. This role works under the guidance of building administrators and certified staff to help support the implementation of effective behavioral strategies for students. This role is critical in supporting district-level interventions like "Home Base" to ensure a successful educational experience for all students. The Behavior Technician serves as a key collaborator with the Response to Intervention (RtI) team and mental health providers. Responsibilities include ensuring the fidelity of behavior plans, providing staff modeling of supportive student strategies, instruction of behavioral skills to small groups or individual students, and managing specific regulation spaces within the school. While this role provides expert input and technical support, the work is performed in close partnership with licensed staff to maintain professional boundaries and ensure student safety. The position also involves developing and promoting good community relations among various district and community clientele.
