About The Position

Collaborative ABA Services, LLC is expanding and looking for motivated and reliable Behavior Technicians to join our dynamic team! The Behavior Technician (ABA) works under the supervision of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in the client's home/school/community/clinic settings. Behavior Technicians (ABA) are responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition programs and behavior intervention plans developed by the BCBA. The Behavior Technician (ABA) will record data during sessions and may assist the BCBA in conducting certain types of assessments (e.g. preference assessments). The position is part-time/full-time working with an assigned case (ages 2-18) in their homes/school/clinic. We have immediate availability for the following cases: Middletown, CT: 4-year-old male, 4:30– 6:30 PM, 2-4 evenings a week with flexibility as client is approved up to 15 hours a week Middletown, CT: 8-year-old male, 4:00-6:00 PM M-F with flexibility as client is approved up to 15 hours a week

Requirements

  • Education: Associates or Bachelors Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Social Work, Speech and Language, Child Development, Special Education or related fields preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children/adolescents with special needs including Autism using ABA focused interventions is preferred.
  • RBT Certification is preferred but not required. Company will provide RBT Training.
  • Availability to work daytime and/or after school hours based on the needs of family and child's schedule.
  • Must be willing to travel to client's homes in Middlesex, Hartford, and/or Tolland Counties.
  • Must have reliable transportation and insurance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to multi-task and remain actively engaged with client during session
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and independently
  • Ability to accurately record data
  • Receptive to learning and feedback
  • Ability to work with special-needs children
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Must be able to perform a variety of postures and motor movements which may include the ability to stoop, stand, reach, lift , pull, walk, push, grasp, hear, talk, see and use repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in working with children with special needs and behavior difficulties.
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written or typed communication.
  • Must be physically present at assigned job location in home, school, and community settings.

Nice To Haves

  • RBT Certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Implement 1:1 individualized behavioral services to children (ages 3-18) using Applied Behavior Analysis as directed by Behavior Analyst.
  • Document child's behaviors and skill progress using electronic data collection software.
  • Participate in trainings to promote professional development and quality ABA services to clients.
  • Communicate with supervisory staff
  • Maintain respect and confidentiality of clients
  • Maintain and protect the well-being of clients during treatment sessions
  • Ongoing BCBA Supervision provided
