As a Behavior Technician, you’ll work directly with children in childcare centers, homes, and community settings, helping them build communication, social, behavioral, and adaptive skills that support independence and inclusion. Under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you’ll bring individualized treatment plans to life in natural, play-based environments, helping children succeed during real routines, peer interactions, and daily activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Willingness to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within the first 120 days of employment (required).
  • Ability to pass background checks, clearances, and health screenings required by state regulations and childcare centers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities (preferred).
  • Experience in childcare, preschool, or school-based settings (strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-on-one and small-group ABA services in childcare and community-based settings.
  • Help children develop communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and daily living skills.
  • Embed learning opportunities into play, routines, and peer interactions in natural environments.
  • Collaborate with childcare staff, families, and clinical leadership to provide high-quality, ethical care.
  • Implement individualized ABA treatment plans designed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Use evidence-based strategies such as natural environment teaching (NET), discrete trial training (DTT), prompting, and reinforcement.
  • Collect accurate data on skill acquisition and behavior goals during sessions.
  • Document session notes and progress updates in a timely, compliant manner.
  • Communicate observations and progress with supervisors and team members.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and required trainings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical and professional standards at all times.
