About The Position

Merakey is a non-profit organization with over 50 years of experience helping people. They are seeking a Behavior Technician to join their team in Baton Rouge, LA. This role involves providing one-on-one support and assistance to assigned clients/students, which may include support with medical equipment and daily activities. The Behavior Technician will use evidence-based treatments like Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to provide direct service in family homes, schools, and community settings. The position offers a Monday-Friday schedule and requires availability for a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or general educational development (GED) is required.
• Availability to work during operation hours of 7:30am – 4:00 pm Monday - Friday.
• Must be available for a minimum for 15 hours per week.

Nice To Haves

• 3-6 months experience in the division of behavioral health services.
• Current Registered Behavior Technician certification
• Completed college coursework in mental health, child development, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Review and implement IEP or treatment plan
• Complete timely ongoing data collection, including parent/staff correspondence and all required documentation
• Provide behavioral interventions and physical interventions as needed
• Accompany and assist clients(s)/student(s) with activities and daily living which may include assisting with toileting and grooming
• Other duties as assigned
