About The Position

The San Diego Unified School District is seeking professionals who care deeply for students and are committed to the communities they serve. The Behavior Support Specialist will assist in data collection and assessment for behavior support services, and help develop, implement, and train staff in positive behavior support and intervention techniques. This is a promotional/open opportunity.

Requirements

  • Completion of college-level courses in psychology, special education, or related field.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Personality and character traits suited to providing services for students with serious behavior challenges.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language and/or sign language may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in data collection and assessment for behavior support services.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and training staff in the use of positive behavior support and intervention techniques.
