Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Valid driver license must be maintained.
• One (1) year previous experience in a Psychiatric facility preferred.
• One (1) year experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual Disabilities preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor or higher degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic support to individuals with behavioral issues.
• Help children overcome challenges in learning, problem solving, impulse control, judgement, communication, social interaction, and adaptive functioning (activities of daily living).
• Assist individuals who may not be toilet trained, requiring staff to change diapers and pull ups.
• Manage challenging behaviors such as hitting, biting, kicking, scratching, and pinching.
• Support children in managing their emotions.
• Implement individualized treatment and education plans that leverage the strengths of each child while addressing their specific behaviors and teaching them skills.
