About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Behavior Support Specialist (DSP/Caregiver) to support adolescents and young adults (typically ages 11–24) with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and behavioral challenges. This hands-on role involves behavior support, personal care, skill development, and community-based activities while helping individuals increase independence and reach personal goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a DSP, caregiver, behavioral technician, childcare provider, mentor, or related role is a plus.
- Experience supporting individuals with autism, IDD, or behavioral challenges is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Implement behavior support plans under the guidance of a Behavior Analyst.
- Support individuals with autism, IDD, and behavioral challenges using positive behavior strategies.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, dressing, grooming, feeding, and meal preparation as needed.
- Support community outings, recreational activities, and life skills development.
- Administer medications and basic first aid as trained and authorized.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families.
