Behavior Specialist- Training Provided
About The Position
This is an entry-level position that offers a clear career path towards a degree, promotion, and leadership opportunities. The role involves working with children to help them build communication, social, and life skills using play, games, and evidence-based strategies. The Behavior Specialist will bring energy and compassion to sessions conducted at a child's home, CSD centers, or in the community, following personalized plans designed by clinical leaders. The role is flexible, dynamic, and requires no prior experience as comprehensive training and support are provided. The goal is to help children achieve life-changing milestones, provide hope and relief to families through observed progress, and foster the professional growth of the Behavior Specialist through paid training, coaching, and career milestones.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Flexible availability (especially Mon–Fri afternoons/evenings + Saturdays)
- Proof of vaccinations (MMR, Varicella, COVID – CA mandated)
- Reliable transportation
- Comfort working with diverse populations
- Ability to frequently sit and stand; keeping pace with your client
- Constant visual stimulation, including close vision, distance vision, reading, computer work
- Constant sitting; frequent up and down out of chair
- Constant use of telephone, speaking, listening
- Constant document handling, use of copier and fax machine, filing
- Frequent typing, use of computer
- Occasional walking around building
- Occasional bending, reaching, stooping, pulling
- Occasional lifting, carrying, moving of items up to 20 pounds
- Occasional walking to, bending to enter, sitting and using upper and lower limbs to drive car
