About The Position
The Arc of San Diego is looking for a Behavior Specialist who is passionate about person-centered support, training staff, and improving outcomes for the individuals we serve. In this role, you’ll lead the development and implementation of behavior strategies that support individuals across our programs. You’ll partner closely with staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent, person-centered care while also training and coaching employees on best practices in behavioral support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or related field
- At least 1 year of experience supporting behavioral plans for individuals with I/DD
- Strong communication, training, and collaboration skills
- Experience with documentation and data tracking
- Valid California driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Designing and monitoring Behavioral Support Plans using positive behavior strategies
- Training staff and leading in-service sessions or orientation classes
- Consulting on behavioral challenges and reviewing participant progress
- Attending team meetings and collaborating with internal and external partners
- Maintaining documentation and tracking behavioral data
