The Behavior Specialist will be responsible for building a restorative, high-expectation environment focused on student accountability, respect, and academic effort. This role serves as a liaison between the school, home, and community to foster positive relationships. The specialist will work with students to improve their self-management skills by teaching and reinforcing alternative behaviors, and collaborate with others to achieve student outcomes and district goals. This position involves one-on-one work with students to correct behaviors through restorative justice, and small group instruction to build relationships and provide proactive self-management skills. The specialist will also coordinate, utilize, and facilitate evidence-based assessments and interventions for students with behavior concerns in an educational setting, aiming to increase staff understanding of student behavior functions and enhance their abilities to prevent and manage behaviors.
